Canada Greener Home Grant

The Canada Greener Homes Grant, which falls under the Home Efficiency Rebate Plus (HER+) program, is jointly administered by Natural Resources Canada and Enbridge Gas in Ontario. It offers grants to qualifying homeowners for approved retrofits, including home insulation, windows and doors, heat pumps, and renewable energy systems.

Home Efficiency Rebate Plus Program

If your existing heating and cooling system is getting old and you’re thinking of replacing it, the Government of Canada and Enbridge Gas have partnered up to create the “Home Efficiency Rebate” Program. This program provides grants when you upgrade your air conditioner to a heat pump and install a new Energy Star high-efficiency gas furnace. This is called a Hybrid heating-and-cooling system.

Carrier will also provide additional instant Rebates through Carrier’s Cool Cash Rebate program and Carrier’s Trade-in allowance on qualifying Carrier equipment.

To take advantage of this opportunity, the homeowner needs to have an energy audit done on the home before work is done and a post audit after the work is completed.

Canada Greener Home Loan

As part of the Canada Greener Homes Loan program, you can receive interest-free financing along with the Canada Greener Homes Grant to pay for some significant retrofits that will improve your home’s energy efficiency.

Loan Details:

Maximum: $40,000
Minimum: $5,000
Repayment term: 10 years, interest-free
Loan type: Unsecured personal loan on approved credit

A maximum of one loan is available per eligible property and homeowner.

Grants/Rebates You Can Receive If You Install Carrier Hybrid System

A Cheque in the amount of $7100.00 from the Home Efficiency Rebate Plus Program to upgrade to the Hybrid System.
Carrier Cool Cash Spring Rebate of $600-$750.
If you presently have an old Carrier high efficient furnace less than 20 years old and greater than 9 years old in your home, you will qualify for an additional $700.00 on Carrier’s Trade in Allowance Program.
Access to a Federal Government interest free loan. When applying for the loan, it can take up to 6 weeks for approval. Homeowners must register online with the Greener Homes Grant Program to qualify and process the interest free Federal Energy Savings loan.

Your final cost after Grants/Rebates will be less than replacing your existing system with a new furnace and builders grade air conditioner.

Your new system will be an Energy Star two stage gas furnace with a 20+SEER Heat Pump with full warranty.
